Centre Security

All of our centres have 24 hour security teams, and we provide 24 hour student supervision. Curfew is enforced at all centres, and staff monitor the residence halls after lights out. All centres, as well as Ardmore Head Office, can be reached at any time on local emergency numbers.

Risk Assessments & Inspections

We are constantly performing internal and external reviews to ensure that our centres are run to the highest standards of safety. Assessments are completed every year at each centre before opening to be certain that all potential risks have been identified and addressed. We also review our overall safeguarding policy annually to ensure compliance with safeguarding best practices. In addition, our centres must pass regular inspections in order to achieve British Council certification.

Arrival & Departure Procedures

For students who book airport transfers through Ardmore, we provide a full service including arrival and departure support. Upon arrival, students will be met inside the terminal by a member of the Ardmore team wearing a red Ardmore shirt, and holding a sign with their name. The Meet & Greet member will guide the students to their transportation link, which will take them straight to the centre. On departure, airport staff will also assist individual students with their check in process.

Staff

Our students are cared for by our carefully selected group of dedicated centre staff. All of our team members must pass a thorough background check process and complete our customised safeguarding training before centre opening. On site and on excursions, we follow strict supervision ratios to ensure students are properly looked after at all times. Each centre has a team of Welfare Leaders who specifically tend to individuals, as well as the overall wellbeing of all students.

Medical Issues

While we expect our students will have a healthy and safe stay with Ardmore, we have extensive procedures in place should any medical issues arise. All of our centres have first aid certified staff on site, and for more serious cases, we have protocol for doctor and hospital visits. Students will always be accompanied by an adult when receiving medical care. Insurance is mandatory for all students and can be obtained through Ardmore if needed.

Safety on Excursions

Opportunities for sightseeing are a valuable part of the Ardmore experience, and student safety on excursions is our top priority. Before leaving the centre, students are introduced to local customs and practises (crossing the street, public transportation, etc.) to ensure an easy transition to their summer city. Increased supervision ratios are followed during off-site trips, and all students are given wristbands and ID cards with the emergency number and their personal information. Excursions are always risk assessed, with a particular focus on free time, including clear boundaries and communication of meeting point and time.
