We recently welcomed a huge number of students from Cognita Schools across Chile to spend time developing their understanding of the English Language, learning new skills and making new friends through Ardmore lessons, activities and excursions. You’ll be able to stay up to date with their time at Ardmore by following us on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

With this influx of students, and as we prepare for our Spring Programmes, we wanted to take a look back at our Winter Programmes and give you a better idea of what is going on during a residential programme at Ardmore Language Schools.

During the week, every morning is dedicated to study and lessons. Students are led through interactive lessons, work sheets and group activities to develop their English Grammar, language and vocabulary. As our students come from all over the world, English is the language they all have in common so even between these lessons they are getting practice in.

Lessons don’t just take place within the classroom though. As part of the Active Learning Group family, we leverage our connections with Active Learning Centres and The Bushcraft Company to offer some outdoor learning experiences for students too. During the week they took part in bushcraft style activities which supplemented their English Language studies with lessons in survival skills. These activities taught the students resilience, teamwork and creative thinking skills.

All work and no play is not part of the Ardmore philosophy. After a busy day of activities, lessons and outdoor fun, students on our Winter Programme took part in a huge number of evening activities including a talent show, a Monopoly Night, an escape room challenge and so much more.

The fun didn’t stop there though. During their time with us students also got to take part in Laser Tag, bowling, karaoke, sports and so much more. Through these activities, students were able to bond with their new friends and relax between classes.

To top it all off, students got to broaden their knowledge with visits to cultural and historic landmarks in the UK. During this year’s Winter Programme, we took students on excursions to Reading and Windsor, as well as England’s Capital City, London for an exciting day out.

After all the fun we have on site, we are always so sad to see our students leave, but we’re looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of students in the spring. If you’re interested in bringing your students to Ardmore, contact us to find out more.
